Tolkien. The Site contains a voluntary questionnaire (the “Online Questionnaire”) soliciting comments and/or personal information. Pursuant to a voluntary Authorization and Release Agreement, located at www. surveyingmiddle-earth.com/questionnaire.html, any responses and/or personal information that you provide in the Online Questionnaire may be included in a book by David Berberick exploring the reasons for Tolkien’s popularity (the “Book”). Such responses and personal information may also be included in the Book’s subsidiary and derivative works, and/or in advertising, packaging, or promotional material for the Book and its subsidiary and derivative works, in any and all editions, versions, languages and media, now known or hereafter discovered, in perpetuity and throughout the world. We collect the personal information that you choose to volunteer while using the Site. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 18. If you reveal that you are under 18, we will delete any information you provide. If you do not represent to us that you have read this Privacy Policy and accepted the Authorization and Release Agreement (the “Agreement”), we will delete any information you provide. However, if you provide us with your email address, we may notify you by email once, inviting you to resubmit your responses and personal information along with representations that you have read the Policy and accepted the Agreement. Your original responses and personal information will then be deleted. If you provide us with your email address and indicate that you would like to be interviewed and/or provide additional information, we may use your email address to contact you in order to facilitate the collection of such additional information. We track page views and clickstream data to compile aggregated statistics concerning use of the Site. We may use a variety of methods for automatically collecting such “passive” information. We are able to determine the IP address from which you access the Site. We may sell or reveal information we collect on the Site in conjunction with publishing of the Book and/or the disposition of David Berberick’s assets in bankruptcy. We may also disclose information we collect on the Site to third-party service providers we retain, to provide reports, analyses or technical support to us. We employ security systems that we believe prevent most people from accessing your personal information through the Site.
